Kristy Hite

Her fan obsession with David Duchovny may just leave her signing autographs. Bree Sharp is garnering fans of her own with her debut single, David Duchovny. The song stems from an admitted crush the 23-year-old has on the X-Files star but she says the song is "about pop stars in general and our desires to meet them, know them and be them."

A Cheap And Evil Girl is a smart mix of folk, rock and pop that combine clever writing with soul-baring honesty and a little fantasy. Bree has a sound a little bit like Alanis Morissette with maybe a touch of Meredith Brooks. Her music ventures from an ironic look at the media and pop culture (America, David Duchovny) to a fantasy world (Faster, Faster, The Cheap & Evil Girl). Not only does she have a flair for the dramatic, but she can write well crafted honest songs that hit home (Walk Away, Smitten) with their achingly true to life intimacy. Show Me is also featured on the Teaching Mrs. Tingle Soundtrack.

The truth is out there - Bree Sharp is an up and comer you should keep your eye on. Trust Me.

Grade: ****
