The Onion: Why should anyone buy your record?

Bree Sharp: God, I have so many answers running through my head. Um, my first instinct is to tell you all the reasons why they should buy it, and then my second thought is that everyone probably gets on and is like [adopts dopey voice], "Because it's great and I worked really hard, and these songs mean a lot, and you can get something from it!" Not that that's what I was going to say anyway, but I'm sure everyone treats it like a big plug. Then I think, "Maybe I should do reverse psychology and tell them not to buy it. [Laughs.] No, I'm just kidding. Well, I think that the record is worth listening to, if for no other reason than the songs are actually about something, which I feel there's been a lack of lately. There's a lot of sex and honesty coupled with what I tried to make as clever lyrics--I took a lot of time crafting them. So hopefully there's something for your mind and your body; put it all in your music, and then you get some free spirit, and it's all good, you know? People can get off on it. And who doesn't want to get off?
