  Radio-trade publication Gavin prases the "David Duchovny" single, reporting that "it's become instantly etched into our heads," declaring that "this sexy and intelligent songwriter is landing soon." Virtually Alternative states "the first single from this graduate of New York University, is going to blow up like the fireworks on the Fourth of July in the next few weeks," predicting that Bree is the "Cinderella story of 1999."
